Bob Clough Memorial Scholarship
The Bob Clough Memorial Scholarship honors an individual whose life was defined by service, education, and community. Bob was born in Wakefield, Nebraska, Bob Clough dedicated his life to learning and teaching. He served his country in both World War Il and the Korean War before pursuing higher education at Wayne State College, the University of South Dakota, and the University of Wyoming. A lifelong educator, Mr. Clough spent many years teaching before returning to Wakefield, where he became a beloved substitute teacher throughout northeast Nebraska.
Known for his warm presence in the classroom and his enthusiastic support of student activities, Mr. Clough was especially passionate about baseball and high school sports. His legacy continues through this scholarship, which reflects his unwavering commitment to education and school activities.
Details
Amount: Minimum $500 scholarship. Monies will be received after fall semester of sophomore year.
Eligibility: A graduating senior who will be attending a Nebraska accredited college.

L.G. Norman Memorial Scholarship
The L.G. Norman Memorial Scholarship honors the life and legacy of a remarkable educator and beloved community member. Mr. L.G. Norman - known by all simply as "Norm" served as a business teacher in Pender from 1962 until his retirement in 2003. Over those four decades, Norm became much more than a teacher. He was a mentor, a trusted advisor, the junior/senior class sponsor, newspaper and yearbook sponsor, and above all, a true friend. Pender became Norm's chosen family, and the community embraced him wholeheartedly. He was a constant at family gatherings, a steady presence for new teachers finding their way, and a source of strength and encouragement for generations of students and staff. Former students and colleagues returned time and again, drawn back by the warmth and support Norm so generously shared. In Pender, he wasn't just a teacher, he was someone everyone knew, respected, and cherished.
This scholarship continues Norm's tradition of uplifting others by supporting students who exemplify the values he lived by: dedication, kindness, and a lifelong commitment to learning and community.

Amount: Minimum $500
Eligibility: A graduating senior who will be attending a four-year college. Individuals are eligible to receive scholarships for second or subsequent years. Recipients may reapply for a scholarship and shall be considered on same basis as other applicants.
